Every Friday between 3 pm- 5 pm, our members are invited to bowl at Huntingdon Bowling alley.

The cost is $ 5.

Daily Activity Service

Details

Services offered:  

  • The Daily Activity Service is open Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm 
  • Multiple activities: Art, cooking, sport, social activities, outings, etc.
  • Activities are animated in French and in English
  • The participants and their families choose days they attend the service based on the activities offered, and the objectives of the participant.  

Service Objectives:

  • Offer a safe environment that meets the participant’s needs. 
  • Maintain skills and include activities to further their potential.  
  • Encourage social interaction and community integration activities. 
  • Offer respite to families and allow them some down time from care. 
  • Bring together work and family life. 

 

Winter Camp

Age: 21-99 years

One week camp offered at Camp l'Estacade.

Several activities available (indoor and outdoor games, sliding, ice fishing, hebertism, etc.)

Ratio of 5 participants for 1 Chaperon.

Price: $ 350 (meals, transportation from Huntingdon, and accommodation included)

Annual cost of $ 25, must fill out the membership form.

All persons with intellectual and / or physical disabilities of all ages in the Haut-Saint-Laurent and Suroît regions

Its primary mission is to provide socio-recreational activities and provide respite for families.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION ARE:
 
- Improve the quality of life of members by providing services
 
-Develop and improve their autonomy to help them take their place in society.
 
-Provide respite to families.
 
-Create activities that meet their needs, provide them with enriching experiences, enable them to have a social network, have a sense of belonging, and build and maintain friendships

About the organization


Mary Shewchuk, a retired nurse from Montreal Children's Hospital and founder of Melissa's Sunshine Camp, named for her daughter Melissa, whom she adopted at 4 months old began in 1993 at the family farm in Herdman. With a lack of services in the area she started a day camp for mentally and physically challenged children.The camp offered the chance to socialize,have fun and also provide respite for families.
